The National Youth Congress Over the Years
The NYC held its first ever Congress in 2004. Over the years, it has grown into a deeply respected and highly anticipated event, while tackling the most pressing issues like labor migration, and the country’s progress on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The NYC was officially endorsed by the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) in 2008, and by the Department of Education (DepEd) in 2009. In 2010, the Congress expanded into a two-day event, with some delegates receiving accommodation at the University Hotel. Since 2014, the Congress has been culminated with a field trip to institutions like the Asian Development Bank, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, and the Philippine Stock Exchange.
